In this clinical audit of conservative management of prelabour rupture of membranes at term pregnancy, a total of 264 women was inclued in the study. Seventy-three percent of women had spontaneous labour within 24 hours. The overall Caesarean section rate was 8.3%. The rates of maternal infection and serious neonatal infection were 3% and 1.1% respectively. In our experience, in healthy women with term pregnancy, 24 hours expectant management is a safe policy.
