Mifepristone: Clinical Applications and Future Potential

Abstract

Mifepristone, an anti-progesterone, has found clinical applications in a variety of gynaecological conditions including medical terminations of the first and second trimester pregnancies, cervical ripening, management of miscarriages and emergency contraception. The efficacy of its use in these conditions is reviewed and future potentials for other clinical indications are explored.
